Starr Cabin is only 20 minutes from the Stevens Canyon entrance to Mt Rainier National Park. This gives you easy access to the Paradise Visitor and countless hiking opportunities inside the park. Packwood is a great homebase for your Mt Rainier adventures.
White Pass Ski Resort
We are about 25 minutes to the base of White Pass Ski Resort. This will give anyone an advantage who is trying to get first lift on a powder day or you can be back home sooner warming up after a long day on the slopes. White Pass still maintains a family mountain feel and it has terrain for all skill levels. They also have Nordic Center for Cross Country Skiing and snowshoeing.
Walk to Town or the Cowlitz River
We are an easy walk to many of the services in town. Take a stroll to get Mountain Goat Coffee in the mornings or enjoy a beverage at Packwood Brewing. We also have a public access park along the Cowlitz River about a 5 minute walk away.
Our Story
We have been visiting Packwood since we were kids and dreamed of having a place there every time we had to go back home. We learned to snowboard at White Pass and have been hiking in the area for years. Packwood has been a place where we can disconnect and enjoy everything the pacific northwest has to offer with our family and friends. In 2019, the opportunity came up to purchase a piece of land. We were hesitant and the project sounded like a big undertaking, but ultimately we decided to take the leap after an evening of beers and getting lucky on pull tabs at the Blue Spruce. Fast forward through a global pandemic, job changes, the craziness of life, and our cabin was finally completed in Summer of 2026. We are thrilled to be able to be able to share this space with you and hope everyone enjoys their stay.
